NEW ONLINE RESOURCES TRIAL: ASM HANDBOOKS & ALLOY CENTER DATABASE

In response to demand for more online materials data, the Library team at IMechE have arranged a trial of two new resources throughout February 2019: ASM Handbooks and Alloy Centre Database.

Follow the links, log in with your IMechE credentials and let us know what you think by emailing your comments to Sarah Rogers, Head of the Library At the end of February, we will consider subscribing to these resources on behalf of IMechE members based on usage levels and your feedback.

The ASM Handbook series is a comprehensive guide to the structure, properties, processing, performance and evaluation of metals and nonmetallic engineering materials. The series has always been popular in the physical library, and the online version is both easier to search and allows us to offer the same wealth of information to members based all over the world. It consists of over 35,000 pages of articles, illustrations, graphs, tables, and practical examples on key topics related to the engineering applications of materials.

The Alloy Center Database features worldwide equivalencies for alloys, mechanical, physical, and chemical property data, coatings data, and corrosion characteristics in various environments.  It includes Alloy Digest and additional materials data sheets, stress-strain curves, creep curves, time-temperature curves, and other engineering graphs for thousands of significant alloys.
